Aljosha Klimov was born in 1973 in Moscow, Russia. In 1996 he graduated the Munich Academy of Fine Arts in Painting and Graphic Design (classes by Prof. Manfred Hollmann and Prof. Axel Kasseböhmer).

Having worked as illustrator and storyboard artist, Aljosha showcased his art works at several exhibitions in France, Russia and Germany.

His passion for graphic novels and film has resulted in the production of the animated music video VICTORY by MC Ligalize that won the MTV Russia Award as the Best Hip-Hop Video of the Year 2005.

2006 to 2009 Aljosha Klimov has worked on the animated feature film FIRST SQUAD (The Moment of Truth) in his capacity as director, screenplay writer and producer. The film was co-produced by Molot Entertainment (Canada) and animation company Studio 4°C (Japan).

FIRST SQUAD has been invited to over 40 international festivals including Locarno, Moscow International Film Festival, Warsaw IFF, Pusan, and Sitges. The anime feature has received the Kommersant Press Award at Moscow IFF and the Best Feature at Trieste Science+Fiction Festival. The film was acquired by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for worldwide distribution and by Anchor Bay (formerly Manga Entertainment) in North America.
In 2010 the graphic novel FIRST SQUAD was published in Russia by AST Publishing House.

Aljosha Klimov is currently based in Munich, Germany where he continues to work on cross-media concepts and art works.
